Where has my train gone ?

The other day I put the MOW loco in operation pushing a track cleaning car all around the layout while I was busy dealing with the "Pimp my freight station" business and the train escaped my notice. But then, all of a sudden, I became aware that it wasn't running any longer.
Even after standing up from the lawn I couldn't see it - no train. Hmmm... did the cats start playing LGB lately ? In this moment the best wife of all appeared on the balcony and I asked whether she somewhere could see...

"Oh yes, dear, it's down here near the flowerbed, but the loco looks a bit tilted"

Hey, what's all this about ? The loco passed this spot ten times before without any hassles ...

Perhaps some carnivorous plant went mad and prefers locos now ?

You may want to move your mouse pointer over the pictures...

Unbelievable - the train passes this spot 10 times or more without a glitch and then a gust blows the weeds into the roof's superstructures in the "right" moment. The reason why the loco did not derail most likely is additional lead in its tummy.

The freight station - a drama's continuation

I call it a "drama" because of some obscure reason the progress made with this project was of lamentable slackness since starting the layout's construction. A lack of ideas certainly is not the reason for this,

The expansion's beginning

it rather seems to be a question of unfavourable circumstances again and again why either other projects "need" attention or one simply is stopped from dealing with this project. As a result, the topping-out ceremony announced in August's bulletin still has to wait. The pictures give some impressions of the work done lately.

Views of the street side - still a good deal of work. Move your mouse pointer over the pictures and you'll see the lamps' mounting.

The street's illuminations are made by Beli-Beco. The lights are made from brass and there's no room for doubts that they are of both a high quality and excellent workmanship. Beautiful lights which can be mounted easily and statically stable due their pluggable stem.

If further progress can be made this year ?
Let's see what the weather is good for on free weekends ...
